When Is the Right Time to Start Selling My Music?

When I first started, I released a lot of free music and freestyles. I would jump on popular beats to bring attention to myself. I didn’t think it was wise to sell any of my music initially because I was trying to get out there. I knew it wasn't the right time.

I was trying to use my music as a vehicle to open myself up to other income streams. I may be where I’m at today because of my music but my music is not bringing me most of the income that I get every month.

So, you must figure out where you are in your journey. Do you know with certainty that 100 people will buy your stuff if you’re ready to drop tomorrow? If you don’t know the answer to that question definitively, what’s the point of going through the process of trying to sell it?

To sell your music, you must build a website, create the links where people should buy, set the price, get people’s payment details etc. So, you must ask yourself, do you have the type of fanbase willing to skip through all those hoops to buy YOUR music?

You must be honest with yourself about where you’re at. If you want to be known, then you need to get out there and make as much music as you can. Register your music, release your music and Make The Most Of Your Social Media Presence.
